LipoSelectionsm
LipoSelectionSM
is an alternative to traditional liposuction. It is a new and
very different way to gently and precisely remove unwanted fat
cells using ultrasound energy. Please click

from Vaser®.
Abdominoplasty
Diet
and exercise sometimes do little to eliminate unwanted fat and
loose skin in the abdominal area. If you are bothered by these
appearance problems, abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) may be a good
choice for you. Abdominoplasty is performed to rid a person of
excess skin and to tighten the weak abdominal wall muscles. This
is frequently present in women following childbirth.
The
procedure can be done as an outpatient or inpatient and
sometimes can be done as a mini-abdominoplasty, which works
mainly on the lower portion of the abdomen. Recovery period is
anywhere from 7-14 days, depending on the extent of the
procedure and the tightening of the abdominal wall musculature.
Liposuction can also be performed at the time of this surgery.

Body
Contour Surgery After Weight Loss
This is
a new and emerging field within plastic surgery. Each year over
100,000 people undergo gastric bypass to achieve weight loss.
For many, undergoing this surgery has been the only method of
successfully losing weight and keeping it off. Others, have
through various non-surgical programs had dramatic weight loss
as well. If you have had massive weight loss and are currently
stable at your new weight and want to improve your body contour
you may wish to consider a number of procedures to improve
specific areas. Procedures for patients having massive weight
loss have improved markedly over the past several years due to
increased knowledge and understanding of the anatomical support
structures, anesthesia, fluid balance needs, specialized
instrumentation and sequencing of operations. Dr. McGill has
taken extensive courses at national meetings dealing with these
issues and has a special interest in these surgical procedures.
Some of
the more common procedures following massive weight loss
include:
-
Abdominoplasty
(Tummy Tuck)
-
Circumferential
Abdominoplasty
-
Lateral
Thigh and Buttock Lift
-
Medial
Thigh Lift
-
Brachioplasty (bat wings)
-
Breast
Reduction or Mastopexy Surgery (Breast Lift)
-
Mastopexy-Augmentation
(Breast Lift with Augmentation)
-
Facelift
Ideally,
candidates for this surgery have achieved a stable weight and
have maintained that weight for six months or more, have a body
mass index of 30 or under, and are otherwise healthy. Smoking in
association with any of these procedures is strongly discouraged
and may disqualify an otherwise suitable candidate. Some of
these procedures may be combined in a single hospitalization.
